Dr. Wehrly is a Board-Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is fellowship trained in cornea and external disease at Duke University and has been operating on eyes since 1992.

In 2001, after 7 years of military service in the Air Force, Dr. Wehrly joined Lake Eye Associates. He had served as Chief of Ophthalmology at MacDill AFB in Tampa, and as Chief of Ophthalmology and Director of Laser Eye Surgery at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs.

Dr. Wehrly has performed more than 22,600 successful state-of-the-art cataract surgeries, 12,000 refractive surgeries, and thousands of other ocular and laser procedures. He was the first surgeon in Central Florida to perform Femto refractive laser surgery.

Dr. Wehrly has extensive experience in Tecnis multifocal implants, including the new multifocal Symfony extended range of vision lens. He has also implanted thousands of toric intraocular lenses (IOLs) for the correction of higher amounts of astigmatism. Dr. Wehrly also combines glaucoma and cataract surgeries, the iStent inject, to reduce intraocular pressure (IOP) and preserve vision in a single surgery.

Dr. Wehrly has been a predominant figure in the Lake County community for 20 years, donating his time to the care of the indigent and contributing to several charities. He lives in Tavares with his wife and 3 children.

Dr. Shelby Terpstra is an experienced Board-Certified comprehensive ophthalmologist. She received her training from the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, where she served as Assistant Clinical Professor and Chief Resident Ophthalmologist.

Dr. Terpstra is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Academy of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. She is proficient in a wide range of ophthalmic services, from general eye care to diagnosing and treating glaucoma and a complete range of dry eye conditions.

Another of Dr. Terpstra’s predominant services is blepharoplasty and other eyelid surgeries to correct functional and cosmetic problems, including sagging, bagging, and inward- or outward-turning eyelids. These surgeries not only help to prevent infection and restore peripheral vision, but they also impart a more refreshed, alert, and attractive appearance.

Dr. Scot Holman is a Board-Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology. He graduated at the top of his class at the University of Tennessee, where he completed his medical education, and was nominated to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha National Honor Medical Society, among other laurels.

He completed his residency at the University of Florida, where he developed outstanding clinical and surgical skills while learning from some of America’s most esteemed ophthalmic surgeons. He is a comprehensive ophthalmologist who also specializes in diseases of the cornea, glaucoma, diabetes, and other retinal and macular disorders.

Dr. Holman specializes in cataract laser surgery and lens implantation, utilizing the latest microsurgical techniques and state-of-the-art IOLs. He has performed more than 17,000 surgeries and is one of the region’s first eye surgeons qualified to perform Femto refractive laser surgery, the most advanced method to eliminate cataracts. For his glaucoma patients with cataracts, Dr. Holman offers the Hydrus Microstent, which lowers eye pressure less invasively and with fewer complications than traditional glaucoma surgery.

Dr. Holman and his family live in Mount Dora. Together they enjoy camping, hiking, boating, and many other outdoor activities.

Dr. Vinay Gutti is a Board-Certified ophthalmologist with a medical degree from Penn State University College of Medicine, surgical residency training at Casewestern Reserve University, and a Fellowship in Cornea, External Disease and Refractive Surgery from the University of California Irvine Medical Center.

Dr. Gutti has performed more than 15,000 surgical procedures and specializes in cataract surgeries. Dr. Gutti utilizes the Femtosecond laser cataract system and the most advanced lens implants such as the Tecnis Symfony and multifocal lenses. Using the latest lens technology along with the laser, Dr. Gutti is able to customize treatments to meet the individual needs of each of his patients. He also performs advanced corneal transplantation techniques such as the DSEK procedure, which allows for quicker visual recovery than a traditional corneal transplant.

Dr. Gutti is Lake Eye’s exclusive provider of iLASIK laser vision-correction surgery with customized eye-mapping called iDesign for superior accuracy and results achieving 20/20 vision or better in over 95% of patients.

Dr. Jose Alfredo Vazquez is a Board-Certified comprehensive ophthalmologist who garnered his medical degree from Puerto Rico’s renowned Ponce School of Medicine. While practicing in PR, Dr. Vazquez served as the Director of the Medical Ophthalmology section of Damas Hospital and as an Associate Professor of the Surgery Department of Ponce Health Sciences University.

In 1996, Dr. Vazquez moved to the US to serve his ophthalmology residency at Tulane University Medical Center in Louisiana. He moved to Florida in 2018.

A Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Dr. Vazquez is highly experienced in diagnosing and providing treatments for diseases like glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration (AMD), dry eye, and many others.
