PROCEDURE: Surgery removing fatty deposits from above and below eyes
I started boxing when I was 15 and was in about 20 fights, so I got hit in the face a few times! Turns out all that pummeling might have worsened a hereditary eye condition, which is drooping upper eyelids and puffy lower ones.
After I retired to The Villages I started going to Lake Eye. Dr. Terpstra told me that because my droopy upper lids were impairing my vision, Medicare would cover it. The bottom lids were cosmetic so they weren't covered, but Lake Eye gave me a great deal so I was in! After 3 weeks the swelling and bruising went away and my vision was incredible. I couldn't see a whole football field before and now I feel like I can see two! And everywhere I go people tell me how good I look.
I feel comfortable and I look younger. I wouldn't say 20 years younger ... but close! I am very, very satisfied with Lake Eye, the procedure and especially the results!

Just wanted to give you an update on my vision. In my left eye there’s no change — it’s just as perfect as it was the day I walked
out of your office the last time! I’m still in “shock” each and every morning! It’s so wonderful not to have to deal with all the contact
solution, cases, etc. especially since we are traveling so much these days. To be able to help Chuck read maps and the GPS is great but
to actually read the tags on clothes while shopping is huge!!! I never realized how much I “wasn’t” reading for pleasure before my surgery.
Now, I can’t wait to read what all my friends are reading and actually recommend a “good read” to them first! But, the very best feeling is
when my two little grandsons (ages 1 and 3) shove their favorite little book in my face and say, “Read Nana, please!” I can just sit down
right then and there and experience that story with them without having to hunt down my readers. Now that’s worth everything!
